Thanksgiving and More

We had a very nice Thanksgiving with friends - grateful to have friends when we don't have an adequate kitchen to cook ourselves (well, specifically Keith - he makes very yummy Thanksgiving meal) I guess we willhave that for Christmas.

So, here are our friends on Thanksgiving day - thank you for the invite and the delicious feast.

On Saturday, we went for some shopping and then enjoyed ourselves counting the lights at the Temple Square. :-) No, we didn't get to count - too many. Wonder if anyone has.

We even found a Mongolian sister there.

Trip to Logan

This weekend we went on a road trip up north to Logan / Smithfield area to visit with our friends we have known for a long time. I am glad Utah has beautiful mountains we can enjoy looking at (we will hike them sooner or later - just got to wait till it is spring).

The drive through the mountains to get to the valley was amazing and then of course, we went on another trip to see the Bear Lake (bit too cold for swimming :-). The Logan canyon is beautiful - I bet it would be even more gorgeous when it is more colorful.

Sorry honey we didn't quite make it to Idaho - but soon enough you will have that added to the states you have visited.

Our friends - they should have stayed in Hawaii - it is too cold in Utah. :-)

Snow!!!

Our first snow in Utah - why did we move to Utah again, honey?

Well, now that we are here, we gotta get used to scraping snow of our car and get used to the cold. We had a thirty plus mile road trip today in a blizzard. But, the snow was cleared off most of the roadways on the way back.

Our car got to feel its first snow today and got on the road too... Many more to come.

Trip to California

We made it to Utah on Oct 31 and since then been figuring things out and getting everything together to settle in.

We, of course, needed to go to Los Angeles to pick up our car. Here are some pics from our trip to California.

We were able to pick up our car on Friday morning of Nov 6 and spent that day and the next with the family.

Friday before dinner, Keith and I went for a hike - went to Sturtevant Falls, Chantry Flat Recreation Area, Angeles National Forest. It is beautiful there. It was shocking to me to see something so beautiful that close to LA. Thought it wasn't possible.

Here we are, finally figured out how to get the camera positioned at the right angle on a rock.

Our car has finally crossed the ocean and it is going to on a road trip from LA to Hill AFB.

It was a nice but long drive. I was tired just sitting there watching the road go by. But, glad to have our car with us.

I am ALIVE!!!

Everyone, I am still alive - actually I am doing great! It has been a long time since I posted anything here. Thanks to my husband there were some pics and stories posted to keep everyone somewhat up to date.

I got too many pics here but believe me it is not nearly enough from how many has been taken.

I have skipped my sisters' visit to Hawaii altogether, evidently. But, they enjoyed beautiful Hawaii for a week before coming to Alabama to attend my graduation.

Flight 1-13 - newly commissioned officers in the US Air Force.

After the commissioning we went to Columbus to stay with family for a day - went to Japanese restaurant for celebration.

Then, for more travel: first to Savannah and then to Atlanta.

Water isn't as beautfil as it is in Hawaii and of course, not as warm. But, Oyuna and Nomin got to see both oceans.

We are goofing around and Nomin is not to be found closeby.

Another day another adventure - at the World of Coca Cola.

Then to the Mall of Georgia!

We had worked up quite an appetite for some seafood.

Oyuna and Nomin enjoyed there first experience with tasting lobster and had some crab, tilapia, shrimp and much more.

It has been wonderful to have them visit - but the play is over and now time to work - we are in Utah and I am back to work - at my newly assigned base of Hill AFB.
