Our very Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas one and all. I hope your Christmas was as nice as ours. We had a nice breakfast, opened presents, then I had to clean up. My parents are a messy pair. Yep, I even had to work on Christmas. Someone help me out.  If you work on Christmas, is that double time?

Here I am getting my picture taken first thing in the morning. I sent out word I was awake and what do I get, my picture taken.

Daddy is not good at reading body language, can anyone guess what I am saying.

Seriously dude, just take the blanket and lets get moving, it is Christmas.

Dad enough with the pictures!

Ok, ok.... put away your toys and no playing till after breakfast!!

All our stockings were hung with care... actually over and over, because I liked knocking them down.

Mommy took charge of the morning and got things moving. Since I am the youngest, I got to open the first present. I got a book from Grandma Cook, which is great for Daddy, because you can only read "Go Dog Go" so many times.

Now I am openning a present from Grandma and Grandpa Young. New clothes.... cool! Just what Daddy wanted me to get.

Cool design! I like dog clothes.

Are you kidding me! Mommy actually got Daddy another camera!

I am passing out cards to Mommy and Daddy!

Move your hand Mommy, I am trying to put my new shoes away so they will stay fresh.

It is official, Daddy is now old. He got a Campaign Hat. Now he is like all the other old veterans.

Mommy got a sweater.... See the joy in her smile.

Mommy got something else small and I don't know what you call it.

Thank goodness I got some new videos. I have seen the ones in the car at least a dozen times.

That is what I got Mommy! Cheesecake gift card, with extra Cheese cakes! What did she get me... Hmmmm! A toliet! Is she trying to tell me something?

I got a lot of clothes and they are so soft!

Grandma and Grandpa Young sent me a gift card, but what does it do?

I have to clean up this mess now. A kid's work is never done.

They always want a picture right when I am texting....

Daddy made me pay attention so we could get the family picture.

As I said in the beginning, we had a great Christmas Morning. Merry Christmas to you all and Thank you to all who sent up gifts, treats and well wishes for the New Year.

Christmas Eve with the Cook Family

We spent our Christmas Eve with our Utah family and friends. It was our second Cook family Christmas Eve dinner, the first was in 2009. It is one of the biggest family gatherings we ever get to attend. It comes with a meal, a re-enactment of the Christmas Story, talent demonstration and a visit from Santa.

Here is the re-enactment of the Christmas Story, with the large audience, angels, shepherds, wisemen and a real baby Jesus.

Another view.....

Mommy and me watching the talent.

I got a private visit with Santa. His beard was itchy and I thought he would be older. So I told him so and....

he told me I was going to get a lump of coal! If I did not shape up....

Then Santa visited everyone else....

Man, that is a lot of kids.... that guy is getting swarmed.

Santa is taking roll call and checking his list twice.

and with so many kids he is still checking it.

I already talked with Santa, so I am self entertaining.

Santa is telling everyone to be sure to go home and go right to bed.

What do you know, the big guy had something for me after all and it was not coal.

Thanks to all those who invited us for Christmas Eve dinner and entertainment. It was a great time and we look forward to the next visit and next Christmas Eve. Once again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you.... and to all Good Night!!!!

Working on Christmas Eve

If you have been following the blog, you know I am now having to work for food. I know, hard to believe. But, I am working on Christmas Eve! I had to vacuum up my mess can you believe it? Who do I live with? Ebenezer Scrooge?

Someone gave us chex mix for Christmas. How was I supposed to know you were not supposed to throw it on the floor and dance on it. It was fun! Crunch, crunch, crunch....

One of life's lessons being learned! Chex mix is fun to dance in, but hard to clean up!

Maybe if I move it around and spread it out, no one will notice.

Some here and some there and it sort of matches the carpet.

I did not crush them all and they are really good. Union break!

Did I forget to charge this thing or is it full?

I am done, so please go plug it back up. I can't reach the counter top.

Hanging out with my friends down stairs after working so hard. We snuggle for warmth.... Sure hope I get that lump of coal in my stocking.

That is mommy over my shoulder. She has my Buzz Light Year blanket. I am good about sharing.

Look guys, there is Daddy with the Camera. Everyone smile!

What can I say. I can only imagine what I will have to do when I can reach the counter tops. Cooking, dishes and all that fun stuff. Guess, I am growing up.

What Christmas means to me!

Ok, lets be serious. I am 16 months old, I am sure, in time - one day, I will understand the true meaning of Christmas, but at my age it is all about being right! What do I mean?  Let me explain.

Daddy and I are in the living room; I do something. He says, "You can't do that!" I say, "Sure I can just watch me." So far Christmas means I can prove to Daddy I can pretty much do whatever I want, because I am 16 months old and have my own will and personality!

Here I am listening to the "Don't do that!"

Here I am touching the ribbion and I did not burst into flames.

And here I am touching another one and still no flames.

That one looks like I really shouldn't touch it! Wink, wink!

No, still have not burst into flames, Dad!

So do you see what I mean? Daddy said, "You can't do that" and I proved I could and in the end I was right and nothing happened!

That said, it is a really beautiful tree and it was not like I was thinking of climbing it. Not this year anyway!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!
