Baking Bread for Mommy and friends....

Daddy is traveling to see Mommy tomorrow so we thought we would send her a few taste from home. Yesterday, Auntie and me made Buuz, Mongolian dumplings and today Daddy and me made bread. Some how the three year old had to work both days. Never the less we have a nice meal and some snacks for Mommy. After all I hear the food in (Name withheld) is not very good and where she is going, who knows.
This has nothing to do with bread, but it is silly. The son is just like the father. Always has his camera at the ready.

It is a lot of work to just get started. Have to make sure we have everything.

Sugar is the white stuff and salt is the.... hmmmm. Mommy let me know if I got it right.

More stuff.

Most people use a mixer. Daddy likes doing it by hand. I think he is just cheap.

And likes playing with the dough.

Now that would make a really big roll.

It is a lot of effort to squeeze and pack the dough over and over.

Then we cut it into different shapes and sizes.

And I roll it out while daddy adds the cinnamon.

Yes, it is hard work, but it is for my Mommy.

We did not take any pictures of rising or baking. Daddy does not let me near the stove, but here is the finish product cooling off.

It is not all for Mommy, most of it. But, lets be honest. I am taking my cut, I worked really hard and Mommy would want to share her cinnamon buns with me.

I miss you Mommy and I love you.... I will see you when you get home and be safe!

Deer Lake, hmmmm seems like there should have been a lake?

I guess I did not tell you the whole story. The other thing Daddy is great at finding is places without rides. Seems he likes to walk a lot. In case you haven't noticed his legs are a lot longer than mine. Which means I am getting a lot of exercise. That said, I was looking forward to seeing the lake. After all if I am walking all the way out to who knows where I want to see something.
Here we are like 10,000 miles into the walk. I am already trying to get Auntie to carry me.

Things are looking up, it is an elevated side walk.

Auntie waiting for me.

If you ask enough and repeat I am so tired you can usually catch a ride. Can you see my little centipede I found in Eden? The one from the picnic table, yeah that one.

That is a big lake.

Darn, no swimming. It is ok I am not dressed for it.

Me and Daddy on the beach. Where is the lake?

Daddy trying to make me feel better since I learned there is no lake.

Those are huge waves.

Run for it they are coming in.

A sting ray in the tidal pool. He would not hold still for the picture.

Now the long walk back. Will it ever end or can I have another ride?

The beach was cool, even if I could not swim. I enjoyed the waves and sand. The ride out and back were not to bad either. Of course I had to listen to Daddy remind me I am almost 40 pounds the whole way. I told him it could have been worse, could have had twins. All in all a good day out with Auntie and Daddy.

A trip to Eden

Yesterday we did not do a lot. It was cloudy and raining off and on all day. This morning when I woke up, the sun was up and I asked Daddy if we could go somewhere. All I can say is be careful what you ask for. I should add, 9 out of 10 times, Daddy comes up with some cool places, but this time, I have to say this trip was more for him than me.
Hey, look at me I am standing in front of a fountain. And it does not even work.

Daddy grew up in the south and I guess this place reminded him of his childhood.

More childhood memories of the mansion/

Hey another fountain, but this one is cool and it works.

Helping the local kids carry their boat.

It will be okay dad, I will pick a nice home for you when you're older.

Now this has promise. What is it?

It is easier to post a sign than type it all out.

Me and auntie on the plantation.

Or should I say me and Grandma Nomin on the porch.

Look paw, there goes those Yankee fellows on the lawn again.

A very lovely red rose. Daddy texted a picture of it to mommy to with a love note. We can not send mommy flowers in (Name withheld). So a picture and a love note is the next best thing.

I have to admit, Eden was not that bad. The rocking chairs were cool and I got an idea of where Daddy grew up back in the good ole days. And now I know what kind of home he wants when it is time to send him out to pasture.

Hey, speaking of Cranky he came to my house today!

No, I was not talking about Daddy when I said speaking of 'Cranky." Cranky is the crane on Sodor Island, where Thomas, James, Salty and all those crazy trains live. I have seven engines now, but not a single crane until today! And if you know anything about trains, you know you have to have a crane to transfer cargo from one rail car to another. If you did not know that, now you do.
Cranky came to the door while we were at Turkey Creek.
Cranky must be really big to come in two boxes.

Opening the boxes under Auntie's supervision.

Had to read the invoice. The one with Cranky is not marked Cranky.

Stomping on the bubble wrap, almost as much fun as Cranky.

Here is Cranky... he is still in the package. So I know I did not get a used one.

Cranky in action.

Me in my train kingdom and I am the King.

One more picture, because Daddy wants to make sure he gets my good side.

Mommy sent me Cranky, because Daddy told her I really, really wanted it. And he could not find a crane store here in Florida. Who would know they would have one in (Name withheld) where Mommy is at. I wonder if she gets to play with trains there? I know she gets to play with guns and really big trucks. I have seen the pictures. Anyway, thank you Mommy and if you find anything else there I can find a place for it here.

A nice walk at Turkey Creek

Daddy and I had to go out and do a few things today and since we were out, we figured why not go for a walk. So we went to Turkey Creek, which is one of our favorite places to visit. Due to all the rain however, the swamp the creek runs through is over flowing. Not an issue for us, because we will stay on the side walk.
The bridge to the creek.

The creek. It is more brown today, all the swamp stuff is in the water.

Here is a crane, that area is usually dry where he is fishing.

Getting a brisk walk in to keep fit.

A look back across the creek.

Hey look a crack in the walkway.

A tree, but if you look to the right you can see the weeds moving out. Current is really strong right now.

Signs, every where there are signs?

This is the last swimming hole, it is usually crystal clear.

This is the quiet area, the little black squares are memorial markers.

See the water is high, the pier is under water.

There is that crane again, he does not mind the high water.

Looking down the creek.

This tree grew through a crack in the walk way.

Another look down the creek.

At the entrance they have a very nice meeting area for picnics.

It was a nice walk for me. Especially the parts on Daddy's shoulders. Did you know he gets kind of cranky when I put my chin on the top of his head. Still old cranky Daddy was nice enough to take me for a walk and then carry me when I got hot and tired.
