We found a very nice house as I mentioned before. Now all we have to do is get our furniture and get settled.

Anyway I am certain you will see more of the house as time marches on. We like the house and that is what really matters. Now if we could just get all the furniture delivered. Had some real issues with the movers. Brought enough space to pack a two bedroom apartment on the truck, so a 1/4 or better of our stuff is somewhere between here and Utah. Should have it all in two weeks or so. They have a wagon team bringing it and the mules are acting up.

Of course our time in Utah would not have been as nice and the blog would not be complete without a few good-byes.

We were able to visit with a few friends and say good-bye properly.

Now you know why we picked Florida!

Like I said a post or two back, we are playing catch up with the blogs. I mentioned to Chimge, that before I left I would like to see some heavy snow. I got my wish several times over.

It was still standing when I pulled away at about 6pm, give or take a few minutes. I even cleaned it inside and out. You can see how clean the yard is. Not a leaf on the ground.

We moved, so I got me a new house. It was a real project and supervising unskilled laborers is tough, but I got it done. And it is a nice house. Turned out just how I planned it.

Of course you are all invited to the open house. Not sure when it will be, just call ahead. I do hire out my laborers, but you have to feed them and provide a lot of supervision.

What a good-bye

Most of you know we have moved. We left Utah 1 Feb 13 and arrived in Florida on the 5 Feb 13. Since we were moving and packing, I could not post everything. So I am playing catch up. Besides moving, the most significant thing going was Chimge's Farewell.

All I can say is wow. I can only post a few of the pictures, but needless to say it was a long good-bye and people had a lot to say. Those of you who know her, know she is amazing. Listening to her boss and co-worker after co-worker just reinforced what we already know.

1LT Young was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for her exceptional service rendered at Hill Air Force Base. Her first service award.

Christopher of course got the medal. Later he would say, all I did was show up and I got a medal.

And Chimge saying Good-bye to all those she work with. Hard to do, but she is on to a new job and more challenges.

The list of people who came up to say a few words about Chimge was very long. I did not add the civilians and others, just the top two. Rest assured, there were a lot. All said the same thing Christopher and I already know, she is just simply amazing and the United States Air Force is very lucky to count her as one of their own.

Of course as I type, Chimge is in Hawaii for six weeks working at the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies. She is TDY working as a linguist and small group leader. Once finished there she will return to Eglin Air Force Base and begin her new job with missile development.

We made it to Florida

We made it to Florida safely. We are enjoying the nice winter like weather. The lows are in  the 50's and the highs have been in the upper 60's to low 70's. Needless to say, it is shorts weather.... funny to see people wearing jackets.

We found a nice place to live. Since we are in the process of selling our house, which is already in Escrow, and the fact Chimge leaves Sunday for 6 weeks of Temporary Duty (TDY) in Hawaii, we are going to rent. We found a very nice 4 bed room with large yard for Christopher and it is situated off the beaten path in a cul-de-sac. We have a wooded patch behind us and it seems rather quiet. So we are rather happy with the find. The movers will start delivering our house hold goods on Monday and the rest within a week or two or three, honestly, who knows when it will come. The good news is 90% of the furniture was in the first load.

The plus side to the movers arriving is we will hopefully be able to find the camera cable and add a few pictures. Not used to blogging without pictures.

Anyway, we are in Florida, if you get this way look us up.

We are out of there!!!!

This post will have no pictures.... I know, but can't find the cable for the Camera. That is what happens when you move.

We left Utah on 1 Feb 2013. Chimge left around 1 pm and I left around 6 pm. We met up in Henderson, NV (496 miles).  On 2 Feb 13 we drove to Albuquerque, NM (580 miles). On 3 February we made it to Decatur, Tx (575 miles) and on 4 Feb 13, tonight we made it to Magee, MS (510 miles). Tomorrow on 5 Feb 13, hopefully by noon we will make it to Eglin AFB, FL (200 something miles) and that will put 2,300+ miles behind us. Then the real fun begins... we have to find some place we live and get all our belongings.

The move out was simple, until the truck showed up. They sent a truck that was 3/4 full, so we needed it to be at least 1/3 empty. So we now have two shipments, who knows when they will both get there!

So far the drive has been nice. Christopher has been good and learned that all the truck stops have video arcades and he can play the hunting games, which there are plenty of down here in Dixie.

Anyway, Good-bye Utah. Thanks for three fun years! If you ever get to Florida, look us up. Hello Florida, we are looking forward to at least that many years of fun in the sun. By the way Utah, it will be 70 in Florida on Weds. How is that for warm. We have transitioned to shorts and t-shirts!
