Fort Campbell, KY

From Kansas City, Missouri was headed east across Missouri to St Louis and continued on to Illinois and Indiana, before turning due south and dropping into Kentucky. On the way home was got really close to where Daddy spent a few years in his early Days in the Army. Fort Campbell, Kentucky, which is home of the 101st Airborne Division. We turned onto the base before continuing south.

Me with a AH-1 Corbra.

The new 506th Infantry Regiment Monument.  The 506th served in Iraq and Afghanistan and a new generation of soldiers have added their names to the rolls of those who sacrificed their lives.

506th Infantry Regiment, this is the same Regiment from the HBO series, "Band of Brothers".

Inside the Pratt museum.
Daddy knew someone, so I got a back stage pass. Me with a SKVD sniper rifle.

The First Brigade Monument, which honors all those who fought, served and died in the 327th Infantry Regiment, from WWI to Afghanistan.

Daddy's old Battalion. 2/327th, No Slack.

It was a short visit, the vast majority of soldiers' from Daddy's era are long since retired. But, it was still nice for him to visit and talk with a few of the soldier from this generation.
