A visit to Columbus to see Family

Sine Mommy is on leave and we are planning on driving across the country on her next leave, we figured we would use her first leave to see those who live close. Makes sense, sort of a practice road trip.

 

So we went to the Army Museum at Fort Benning, my request. I got to dress up again.

Then we toured the falls at Flat Rock.

We had a big family dinner, it was Jeanette's Birthday.

Saw some cannons at the Confederate Naval Museum.

Tour a boat there too and....

Visited the river, which during the Civil War was a battle field.

I got to watch Zachary play baseball. He did really good hitting and throwing. I want to play base ball!

And I played.

 

We learned if your on vacation, it usually means no one else is.... So you have to find thing to do until everyone gets off work. We did get a chance to swim, but the water was cold. So I ate green beans, Daddy said they keep you warm in the pool. And we had a great visit with Aunt Coleen and Papa Ed and everyone else.

The USS Alabama with Mommy!

Since we were already in Pensacola, Daddy and I figured that one more hour of driving would get us to the USS Alabama. Mommy has seen picture of me touring, but never toured it with me. Since Mommy is on vacation I can take her to see all the sights she missed while she was away.

I got a time out in the Brig. Who knew you were not allowed to run below decks.

Here we are in the Engine Room. It was really hot and the engine was off, can't imagine if it was on.

It was a fun trip and nice to see the USS Alabama again. I enjoyed it more, since, I was able to give the tour to Mommy. We will be visiting a lot of places in the coming days and weeks. Just be patient when looking for new post.

A trip to Pensacola to visit with Annie

A few days after Mommy got home we drove up to Pensacola to visit Annie. That is the sweet lady we met at the National Naval Aviation Museum. She sent Mommy a card and other things while she was in Afghanistan. Annie wanted to meet Mommy when she got home. She Daddy and me made her request happen.

 

I ran in and surprised Annie and she even remembered my name.

Then me and Mommy did a flight simulator.

And got some stick time on time a AH-1 Cobra Helicopter.

 

It was a quick visit, we had some place else to visit. Some place really big that Mommy has never been too.

After the fun and games and dinner we went for a walk and some one took a picture of the three of us. Then they invited us on their boat for a tour. It was a big boat that had a kitchen and rooms... It was really cool and they had a dog too!

 

On the 27th take, we could not get the dog to sit still.

So now that Mommy is home every thing is great!

Mommy's first vacation

If you follow the blog you know Mommy is home and she is officially on her first local area leave. We get 14 days to help Mommy get readjusted to not carrying a weapon and following all the traffic laws. Not to mention, so time to play with me. So we went to the race track, so she could learn to drive, but Daddy did not take pictures. And then we went to San Destin to have more fun.

Some of it was challenging.

After a few laps I was on my own.

Then I went bouncing.

I can jump high for being 42".

Then me and Mommy did an old fashion tire swing.

We spun until I threw up on Mommy, just kidding.

Then we found a tree house.

It was mine and Mommy's size.

Then we found a really big tree house.... that is me at the top.

 

That was the first day.... wonder what is next?

The bear was right.... Mommy is Home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mommy came home yesterday at 5:41 Pm. She was delayed 30 minutes, but what is another 30 minutes after almost 9 months. Of course bear came home and I got all excited that Mommy was coming home. Then I crashed in order to kill some time while Daddy cleaned the house. The last thing anyone coming home from war wants to find is a dirty house.

It was a long nap, but I was wide awake when Mommy got here.

Daddy hired a few sign waivers and two people to hold the banner.

Daddy got old while Mommy was gone. So I beat him to Mommy for the first hug.

Mommy is finally home.

 

So Mommy is home.... our family has been reunited. Mommy had to work today, but she will begin a very long leave cycle in a few days. So do not be surprised if we show up on your front porch with little or no notice. Well if we told you we were coming, it would not be a surprise would it?

Guess who came home? Thats right....

So guess who came home? That's right, Mommy's bear. He got released a few day earlier than Mommy and he really missed his friend. So he flew in and we picked him up.

After I left Mommy's bear, my bear got to hear all about the places he visited in Afghanistan.

And he kept on talking and talking.

 

Anyway, Mommy's bear made it back safely. And he said Mommy would be home before I know it.
